CAIRO: Dr. Mohamed Omran, the Egyptian Stock Exchange (EGX) Chairman, met Monday Gilles Heyvaert, the Belgium Ambassador in Cairo to discuss attracting new investments in the upcoming period, the EGX stated in a Monday press release.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed the latest growth rates of the Egyptian Capital Market as a move from the two sides to boost the mutual relations, and Omran called on Belgian companies to offer shares on the EGX and invest in Egyptian Depository Receipts.

Belgium is considered the forth commercial partner with Egypt with total exports amounted to 1.8 billion Euros and about 400 million Euros Egyptian imports, stated the EGX.

The Egyptian Association for Financing and Investment Studies (EG- Finance) monitored a 33 billion EGP as foreign investments in the EGX at the past five years, reported VetoGate Monday.
