4 injured, after train accident in Delta

CAIRO:  A police officer and three civilians were injured when freight train derailed and overturned in Beheira Governorate on the Cairo-Alexandria road, causing a halt to train movement Monday morning, Youm7 reported.

The train, which was carrying military jeeps from Cairo to Matrouh governorate, was travelling at a high speed when it crashing into a concrete barrier.

Security forces and civil protection forces immediately inspected the site to remove the cars from the rails in order to restart train movement.

Five days ago, another goods train derailed and then overturned in Suez on Ismailia-Suez railway, according to Akhbarak.
