CAIRO: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi attended Saturday a Ministry of Interior graduation ceremony for Police Academy cadets, Youm7 reported.
The top graduates were given awards during the celebration, held today in New Cairo for 520 new officers from Egypt and other Arab countries.
The ceremony was attended by former President Adly Mansour, former Prime Minister Kamal Ganzouri, Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed al-Tayeb and a group of ministers.
Speaking during the ceremony, Sisi called on the students of the Police Academy not to allow anyone to “disperse the Egyptians ranks.”
“The army, people and police are one hand,” he said.
Police Academy head Ahmed Gad Mansour said at the beginning of the ceremony that, “What we are witnessing today reassures us that Egypt’s security system is able to control the rhythm of life in the country.”
Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim said in his speech, “The police forces work to face legal violations that are spreading widely, adding more burdens to the security apparatus than ever before.”
Sisi previously attended the graduation ceremony of the Air Force Academy on June 19 in Alexandria.
