CAIRO: Security forces Sunday arrested 12 alleged Muslim Brotherhood supporters after dispersing a protest in Damanhur City in Beheira governorate.
In the evening, dozens gathered at Damanhur Stadium Square, chanted against the military and police and denounced the mass death sentence against 183 MB members—including MB Supreme Guide Mohamed Badie—issued in Minya this week.
Security chased the protesters into the surrounding streets and arrested 12 of them.
Previously today, Damanhur Criminal Court ruled 29 alleged MB leaders were innocent of charges of protesting and joining a terrorist group.
