CAIRO: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has arrived in Khartoum for a previously unannounced visit after leaving Equatorial Guinea where he attended an African Union Summit, an anonymous official from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry told The Cairo Post Friday.

Sisi was met at the airport by Sudanese President Omar Hassan al-Bashir and it is expected the two will discuss bilateral relations in a meeting lasting a few hours.

Sisi met with Sudanese Vice President Bakri Hassan Saleh during the AU Summit in Malabo.

Sudanese Foreign Ministry official Abdel-Mahmoud Abdel-Alim described Sisi’s visit as “important”, MENA reported Friday.
