CAIRO: The National Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy (NCSL) called Monday for a new “uprising” on July 3, on the one-year anniversary of the day former President Mohamed Morsi was toppled by the army.

The coalition, which was formed last year in the aftermath of June 30, said they will demonstrate in front of the houses of judges and “coup criminals” before heading to Tahrir Square.

“Let’s start the afternoon in Cairo, the capital of the revolution, from 35 mosques, the same mosques where we started on Jan. 28, 2011,” the coalition statement read.

The NCSL in the statement also called on the police and army to stop harming “revolutionaries” and called a government plan to reduce oil subsidies “a red line.”
