CAIRO: “Minister of Defense Sedky Sobhy approved to hire Mohamed Samir Abdel Aziz as an official Spokesman for the Egyptian Military as a replacement for Colonel Ahmed Mohamed Ali starting from July 1,” the military announced on its official Facebook page Tuesday morning.

Abdel Aziz finished his studies at the Military college as well as at the faculty of commerce at a civilian university. He took many courses in military studies, some in Egypt and others in the U.S.

Spokesperson Mohamed Ali was seen in Ithadeya presidential palace during President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi’s inauguration wearing civilian clothes instead of his military uniform. This brought up rumors and talks about whether Ali’s position was to change or not.

” Ali was moved to the presidential palace to work among Sisi’s official team as the director of his press office for sure,” head of Ahkbar Al-Yom news Yasser Rezq announced on Al-Qahera Al-Youm TV show.
