CAIRO: Three jihadists were killed Tuesday in North Sinai, security source stated to Youm7.

The source added that security forces implemented extensive security operations in villages located in south Sheikh Zuwayed, where the jihadist groups are active.

Three of them were killed while 10 were arrested and they are currently being interrogated, the source added.

Eyewitnesses said that the security forces were shooting repeatedly in retaliation.

Four conscripts were killed Saturday in Rafah, all under 21 and all Central Security soldiers.

A security source told Youm7 that the soldiers were in a microbus and the assailants were in a Hyundai. He added that the assailants got the soldiers out of the microbus and killed them after making sure they were affiliated with Central Security.

Last week, two civilians were killed in an attack targeting a police officer near his home in Arish, North Sinai. Agroup of gunmen in a car opened fire on the officer’s car while it was parked in front of his house in Kholafaa Al-Rashideen area.

The officer survived, although two civilians that were accompanying him were killed: Mohamed RafaatAlazar, a 31-year-old worker and Ahmed RafaatAlazar, 26.

Currently Al Arish and Sheikh Zuweid are witnessing intensive security procedures and the imposing of a curfew while police patrols roam the streets.
