Car blast targets military hospital, no casualties reported

CAIRO: A bomb exploded near the Air Forces Hospital in the district of Abasseya in Cairo in the early hours of Thursday morning. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.

Eye witnesses reported the incident on Twitter, posting pictures of a car on fire, allegedly the car in which the bomb was planted.

One suspect was arrested while other unidentified suspects escaped, Al-Tahrir News reported.

Major Gamal Halawa, deputy chief of Cairo Civil Protection forces stated that the bomb was planted under a car parked in front of the hospital, Al-Bawaba News reported.

Bomb squad experts arrived to the crime scene to clear the area.
