CAIRO: Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab saluted the efforts of the Ministry of Defense in providing buses to help solving the transportation problem Wednesday in the government’s weekly meeting, Youm7 reported.

Mahlab praised the efforts of the Ministries of Interior and Supply in facing illegal practices countering the raise in fuel and electricity prices.

Mahlab decided to form a committee including Ministers of Industry, Youth, Supply and Social Solidarity to study increasing outlets that provide food commodities through unconventional methods: providing commodities in big quantities in wholesale outlets and increasing their working hours in order to achieve more balance in the market.

Mahlab called on ministers and governors to end rumors by explaining information to citizens in the streets, stress on facing violations, check prices and fine violators.

Moreover, Mahlab instructed each ministry to form a group to respond to customer complaints through the government complaint hotline: 16528. Mahlab said during the meeting that the government considers Egyptian citizens a priority.

Mahlab tasked ministers in service sectors with visiting different governorates every week to communicate directly with citizens there. He also tasked governors with submitting a report about problems in their governorates and suggestions to solve them.

Minister of Supply Khaled Hanafy met Wednesday with a large group of major food and non-food producers in the private sector and they agreed to provide large quantities of commodities for reduced prices in wholesale outlets and supply shops, Masr 11 reported.

Hanafy said that the machinery in the Holding Company for Food Industries will be developed along with production lines to increase and enhance products.
