CAIRO: Samalot investigations department arrested a house-owner in Samalout, Minya (Upper Egypt) after a bomb exploded in it injuring his wife and his brother’s wife on Wednesday, Youm7 reported.
The bomb exploded before call for Maghreb prayer in Egypt. Initial investigations revealed that the bomb was placed in the house without the knowledge of the two women and exploded while they were cleaning the house, Youm7 added.
Investigations are now confirming whether the defendant belongs to the Muslim Brotherhood organization or not.
Meanwhile, five bombs were found in a warehouse inside Kerdasa, North Giza on Wednesday and police is searching for the owner of the warehouse who they believe has escaped, Youm7 added.
Accidental bomb explosions became widespread lately, in Kerdasa, a bomb exploded by dawn on June 3, 2014 killing the two people manufacturing it. Investigations revealed that the bomb was a handmade bomb that went off by mistake and was supposed to be used in a bombing in Kerdasa later on, al-Tahrir reported June 3, 2014.
The owner of the apartment’s brother testified to prosecution that his brother was a leader at the MB and that he formed a terrorist cell but the brother had no idea that his late brother manufactured bombs inside his apartment, al-Tahrir added.
Also members of Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis announced on March 15, 2014 that a member of the group was killed after a bomb he was carrying in his car went off by mistake, al-Wasat reported March 20, 2014.
