CAIRO:Eleven Egyptians drowned in the waters of the Red Sea in Ras Ghareb near Safaga, Sky news reported Wednesday.
Ras Ghareb’s operation room notified the Governor of Red Sea Governorate General Ahmed Abdallah who ordered an immediate investigation of the incident , al-Tahrir reported Tuesday.
A group of Egyptians were on a trip visiting the monastery of bishop Paula and decided to go on a cruise. They jumped in the water for a swim, and when one was pulled out by the current, other tried to save him and were also swept out to sea, al-Tahrir added.
The bodies were transferred to the RasGhareb central morgue, and one person was transferred to the hospital in an attempt to save his life, Sky News reported.
