Qassam Brigades say they killed 59 since Israeli offensive in Gaza

CAIRO: Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas  announced Friday that they killed 59 Israeli soldiers and wounded 300 others since the beginning of the Israeli offensive in Gaza.

In a televised statement Friday, they added that since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on Gaza July 8, they shelled Israel with 1700 rockets.

“Eight rockets were fired at Haifa, 109 at Tel Aviv and the surrounding suburbs, 19 at Jerusalem, 12 at Dimona and 26 at Beersheba,”  according to the statement.

On July 8, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched its operation, the Protective Edge to stamp out Hamas’s rockets fired at the Israeli cities.

The Israeli air and ground offensives on Gaza strip killed more than 800 Palestinians. Yet the fatalities of the Israeli IDF escalated to 37 according to the Israeli Haaretz.

The statement said Izz Al-Din Al-Qassam Brigades targeted 44 Israeli tanks and troop carriers in Gaza with antitank missiles and explosive devices adding that they targeted some of the Israeli military airports with 15 rockets.

Several booby traps were set to target the Israeli soldiers who infiltrated into Gaza, said the statement adding that they entered 15 direct fights against the Israeli troops and killed the Israeli soldier Aaron Shaul.
