CAIRO: Prosecutors investigating a truck bomb blast that killed three people early Wednesday in El-Saff, Giza, say they found 10 kilograms of TNT material in the truck that they believe exploded due to high temperatures, Youm7 reported.

The three victims are believed to be the passengers who were inside the white Mazda truck. Investigators said they believe the passengers were planning an attack on a security checkpoint.

Authorities are working to identify passengers of the truck, a security source at the interior ministry told Youm7. Two of the three died on the spot, while the third died at a hospital.

In a possibly related incident, a man was arrested shortly after the truck bomb explosion for allegedly trying to blow up an electricity tower in nearby Atfeeh, Youm7 reported.
