CAIRO: Militants fired gunshots Thursday on the checkpoint centralized outside the National Security building in Suez governorate, Youm7 reported.
A security source said that the checkpoint’s security chased the militants and they were able to seize an automatic weapon, but the militants were still able to escape.
The security source added that an investigation was started with consideration that the accident is the first of its kind in Suez since the Rabaa Sit-In dispersal in August 2013.
“This small attack resulted in no deaths or injuries,” said the source. After the Rabaa Sit-In dispersal events, a large number of attacks occurred targeting checkpoints and security buildings in many governorates countrywide.
