CAIRO: A citizen in Alexandria called the police Friday morning and reported two bombs were put next to his car in Carrefour mall, Youm7 reported.
Explosive experts directly moved to the mall and handled the ‘bombs’, one of which turned out to be only a wooden shape of a bomb filled with a white powder and the other was filled with nails.
The two reported ‘bombs’ were sent to the Criminal Evidence Department to be examined.
Meanwhile, security forces intensified their presence in the Tahrir and Mostafa Mahmoud squares, and also around the Qatar embassy in Mohandessien, in preparation for Muslim Brotherhood demonstrations.
Earlier on Friday in Mohandessien district in Giza, security forces suspected a car carrying three men, when an officer asked for the car’s license, they tried to flee but security arrested two of them and only one was able to escape.
The Special Forces officers also intensified their presence around the Ministry of Interior and the side roads around Tahrir Square and the ministry as well as Mohamed Mahmoud Street, in anticipation of MB protests.
