CAIRO: The Library of Alexandria is hosting the 12th International Summer Music Festival after the annual festival was halted for three years, Director of the library’s Arts Center told Youm7 Tuesday.

Famous pianist and composer Omar Khayrat will hold two consecutive concerts, one on the opening night on Aug. 6 and again on Aug. 7.

The festival will present several independent Egyptian bands and such as “Black Theama” on Aug. 9, “Cairokee” on Aug. 17,  “Massar Egbari” on Aug. 20 and many others throughout the month.

Egyptian singer and guitarist Dina el-Wedidi will perform on Aug. 16.

According to Youm7, three movies by three young female directors will be screened, and Egypt’s oldest popular band “Les Petits Chats” will perform in the festival’s finale.

Location: Arts Center, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Chatby, Alexandria.
