CAIRO: Dozens of alleged pro-Muslim Brotherhood students at Cairo University staged a protest Wednesday to demand the readmission of fellow students who were recently suspended and expelled from the university, Youm7 reported.
Protesters raised banners condemning the disciplinary procedures taken by the university’s administration against students.
Youm7 also reported that the protesters damaged a police vehicle stationed in front of the university’s main gate and were stopped by police from setting it on fire.
Security forces have intensified their presence in the vicinity of the university to prevent students participating in protests from entering exam halls and to prevent any further attacks on university facilities.
