Azhar humanitarian aid convoy reaches Gaza

CAIRO: Al-Azhar’s humanitarian aid convoy reached Palestinian people in Gaza Strip Thursday afternoon. The aid contains medicines necessary for surgeries, bone surgeries, and burns and about 40 tons of vital food products and children’s milk, Youm7 reported.

Al-Azhar sent a delegation to accompany the aid convoy to Gaza.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health received medical aid from the Jordanian Hashemite Kingdom and Egypt’s Al-Azhar Thursday afternoon in the Jordanian Field Hospital, according to the ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qedra.

“Head of the international cooperation department in the ministry Mohamed al-Kashef appreciated the aid from both Egypt and Jordan, which exert noble efforts to heal our people’s wounds,” Qedra said.

Head of the Jordanian Hospital Soliman al-Seoudi said the hospital received 2,000 blood units from Jordan.

The death toll on Gaza on day 31 rose to 1,886 victims with over 9,806 injured, Qedra tweeted Wednesday.

Among those killed, 432 were children, 243 women, and 85 senior citizens. A total of 2,979 children, 1,903 women, and 374 senior citizens were injured, Qedra tweeted Wednesday.
