CAIRO: A child was killed and two other people were injured after a shell fell near their house in Rafah city in North Sinai, the origin of the shell is still unknown, Shorouk news website reported on Wednesday, quoting medical sources.

She was 13 years old and her corpse along with the two injured victims were admitted to Sheikh Zuweid general hospital, the sources clarified.

Security apparatuses were notified to identify the source of the shell, sources added.

It’s not the first time for such an incident to happen; five people were killed and ten were injured during July and August in different places in Sheikh Zuweid due to the fall of unknown shells on their houses in North Sinai.

Security forces, namely the Egyptian army, are currently waging security campaigns against “terrorists” in North Sinai that are targeting police and army personnel.
