CAIRO: Thursday is the first anniversary of the dispersal of sit-ins at Rabaa al-Adaweya and Nahda Squares. Protests and clashes started on Wednesday by supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood and ousted President Mohamed Morsi. Here are our live updates:
22:06: Head of Urgent Care and Ambulances in the Health Ministry Mohamed Sultan told Youm7 that four were killed and 17 were injured in the first anniversary of the dispersal of the Rabaa and Nahda sit-ins.
21:45: Fierce clashes between security forces and MB supporters in El Hay El Khames, 6 October City in Giza, Youm7 reported.
21:15: Security measures were tightened at Tahrir square after Muslim Brotherhood supporters gathered in the nearby area of Abdeen, Al Ahram reported.
20:05: The Ministry added in its statements that bomb squads were able to defuse 23 homemade explosives found in several places and accused Muslim Brotherhood members and supporters of placing them.
19:00: Egypt’s Ministry of Interior announces the arrest of 114 people allegedly affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood in today’s demonstrations.
16:56: Bomb squad defuses a homemade bomb found in Genena Mall in Nasr City, Youm7 reported .
15:51: A car bomb detonated in Helwan district, Al-Ahram reported.
15:16: Deputy head of Giza investigations department said one pro-Brotherhood supporter died by a stray bullet in a march in Agouza but his family said he was just an innocent bystander. Five were arrested by security forces.
14:22: Security forces thwarted an attempt to bomb an urban police department, after defusing two bombs found in them. The police managed to catch those who tried to plant the bombs and the police seized 16 Molotov cocktails and five weapons with the accused.
14:21: Pro-Brotherhood protesters set fire to a number of residencies by throwing Molotov cocktails on Horreya St. at Matariya Square when residents made the victory sign with their fingers. Two residents were injured by the fire and five others, including a child, were wounded by the birdshots directed at them.
14:08: Security forces managed to disperse pro-Brotherhood protestors who had blocked off the Ring Road highway, traffic flow resumed.
14:07: Muslim Brotherhood protesters set fire to a police vehicle during their march outside North Giza Court in Sudan Street. Security forces arrested a number of participants and others were dispersed and fled to Kitkat Square.
14:05: Muslim Brotherhood protesters shot birdshots at residents of Matariya then set fire to a nearby gas station and vandalized public property, two citizens were injured.
11:57: Prosecutor-General orders immediate investigations into violent incidents.
11:53: Major traffic jam as Brotherhood supporters block parts of the Ring Road and set fire to tires near Kerdasa and Maadi; security forces controlled the situation.
11:42: Interior Ministry spokesperson Abdel Fatah Osman said Brotherhood aims to create chaos and damage public institutions after failing to gather people for protests but security forces ready to confront violence, MENA reported.

11:08: Director of Investigation in Cairo Gen. Mohammad Qasim confirmed the death of sergeant Ramadan Fayez at Helwan police station and two other injured when masked gunmen shot at them in their car owners at 1:00 a.m. on Thursday morning. They were off duty and returning to their homes.

7:00: Two villages in Sharqia were sabotaged at dawn when unknown people torched the power generator and cell phone tower by unidentified assailants, Youm7 reported.
