CAIRO: A Central Security Forces soldier in North Sinai died Thursday during training inside a camp, and Al-Masry Al-Youm reported Friday that the cause of death was that Private Ahmed Hussein Khalil, 20, was beaten to death by a superior officer.

Ministry of Interior spokesman Major Gen. Hani Abdel-Latif told The Cairo Post Friday that the cause of death according to the initial forensic report was a sudden drop in blood circulation, but an investigation was ongoing and the officer in question had been jailed and suspended.

“The officer is imprisoned now for four days as the investigations are running until we know the full details of the incident,” Abdel Latif said.

“Soldiers inside the Central Security Forces camp are feeling sad and angry right now, and demand the Interior Ministry start a fair investigation with the responsible officer,” Al-Masry Al-Youm wrote.
