CAIRO:  The Suez Canal was closed for more than three hours Monday after two container ships collided near Port Said, Youm7 reported.

The canal had to stop navigation because the collision resulted in the fall of several containers into the canal, Youm7 added.

The Suez Canal Authority is currently investigating the incident, and crew members have been referred to investigators, Al-Shorouq reported.

A video circulated on social media sites showing the collision, but information regarding details of the incident in news outlets remains conflicting.
