CAIRO: The Maadi Misdemeanor Court sentenced activist Alaa Abd El Fattah to a month in jail and fined him 200 EGP ($27) for insulting the Ministry of Interior, Youm7 reported Thursday.

He is alleged to have called on God to orphan the children of his “unjust” opponents in court.

Abd El Fattah’s offense allegedly occurred while he was inside jail pending investigations in the Shura Council case from last November in which he was charged with attacking police and government facilities and conducting illegal demonstrations along with 24 other defendants.
