CAIRO: A fire erupted at the Ministry of Manpower Tuesday morning, damaging the ministry’s information center which had to be closed down, Youm7 reported.
Employees were sent home upon orders from Minister Nahed al-Ashry, who also suspended business meetings and reception of citizens until Oct. 26, because electricity had to be cut to the entire building.
Prosecution authorities in Nasr City, northern Cairo where the ministry is located ordered investigations in to the incident, Al-Doustour reported.
Damages are yet to be announced, and the ministry’s official website is down.
