Nov. 9 – 18: 36th Cairo International Film Festival kicks off

CAIRO: Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) 36th session presided by film critic Samir Farid will kick off Nov. 9, featuring 16 films from 14 countries. The festival’s Special Screenings section will include 13 films and will focus on Greek Cinema.

CIFF will feature documentaries and animation films within the International Competition for the first time. Egyptian star Yousra will be the jury president, and jurors include Chinese director Wang Xiaoshuai, Ethiopian filmmaker Haile Gerima, Dutch producer Corinne van Egeraat, French director Dominique Cabrera, Lebanese critic Ibrahim AlArees, Greek critic Alexis Grivas, Egyptian scriptwriter Mariam Naoum and cinematographer Nancy Abdel Fatta, the CIFF stated in a press release Oct. 30.

Tickets will be for 20 EGP, 10 EGP for students.
