EGX closes in the red after 1.55% drop

CAIRO: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday trading with a drop of approximately of 1.55 percent, after upward sideways trading Tuesday.

The benchmark index EGX30 lost 148 points, falling to 9,345 points, down Tuesday’s close of 9,493 points.

The EGX70 also fell, dropping 1.29 percent to 623 points, down from Tuesday’s close of 631 points, after a trend this week of sideways movement.

Shares of market heavyweight CIB marked a slight rise from 50.85 EGP ($7.10) to 50.88 EGP.
