EGX closes Thursday with .91% drop

CAIRO: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday’s trading with a drop of .91 percent, with the benchmark EGX30 index hitting 9,260 points, down from the Wednesday close of 9,345 points.

The close marked a one-week low for the market, which had otherwise seen a trend of upward sideways movement.

The EGX70 also opened with a slight fall of .24 percent, but had upward sideways movement for the rest of trading to close .49 percent up at 626 points.

The market heavyweight CIB saw its shares fall to 50.02EGP per share Thursday.
