CAIRO: The 7th Cairo International Women’s Film Festival will be launched on Nov. 29 and run until Dec. 4 at the Creativity Center at the Cairo Opera House, the Falaki Theater at the American University in Cairo and the Goethe Institute.
The festival will include 60 films from over 40 countries, all made by women.
Egypt’s entry in the festival is “The Trace of the Butterfly” by director Amal Ramsis.
Germany will be “the country in focus” this year for the festival, as five Teutonic films will be shown.
The festival is organized by Klaketa Arabe in collaboration with Kultura, Communication y Dessarollo (KCD) from Spain and with the support of Diputación Foral de Bizkaia, The Embassy of the Netherlands, the American University in Cairo, the Goethe Institute, the Embassy of Portugal, the Embassy of Denmark and the Embassy of Spain.
