Badie and the co-defendants are accused of violent acts that took place in Beni Suef in the aftermath of the August 2013 dispersal of the Rabaa al-Adaweya and Al-Nahda sit-ins

Former President Mohamed Morsi called Saturday during his trial over espionage for holding a closed court hearing with current President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi, former head of the supreme council of the Armed Forces Hussein Tantawi, and former military Chief of the Staff Sami Anan.

Morsi talked about how he was taken by the Republican Guard head since being ousted on July, 3, 2013 by the Army after mass protests called for the end of his regime on June 30, 2013 to July 5. He said if the secret hearing was being held, he would have to reveal the details about his detention.
