CAIRO: A woman was granted a divorce because her husband did not disclose that he suffered from Alzheimer’s disease before their marriage.

The Abdeen Family Court heard testimony from the plaintiff, Nehad, who said that her husband was a “dishonest person” who married her in order for her to care about him.

She told the court that had he been honest from the beginning she would have continued with him, but “Despite the offers made by his mother to give me money, I can’t live with him. How can I spend my life with someone when he wakes up in the morning, does not know me?”

The court granted her request after reviewing her husband’s medical records.
