CAIRO: Five “terrorists” were killed and other five suspects were arrested in a fire exchange with security forces in Sheikh Zuwayed City, North Sinai Youm7 reported Tuesday.

Six machineguns, five walkie-talkies, and five vehicles were seized on the scene while security forces continued to destroy shacks that served as “terrorist hubs.”

On Sunday, two police officers were killed when assailants, driving a Hyundai, shot at them as they were going to work in Arish.

The most recent wide-scale attack took place in October, where a suicide bombing, depicted in gruesome video reportedly affiliated with Ansar Bayt Al-Maqdis (ABM), has killed over 30 soldiers. Police officials have reported that the majority of assailants have been killed.

ABM, which recently pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group, released a video earlier this month calling on North Sinai’s local community to “at least” stop providing the military with information.
