CAIRO: Two passersby were injured after an explosive device detonated outside a mall in the busy Haram Street of Giza, Youm7 reported Wednesday.

The victims are expected to be released from the hospital today, head of the emergency sector at the Ministry of Health Khaled Weshahy told Youm7.

Two electricity transformers were reportedly bombed in the town of Belbais in Egypt’s Delta governorate of Sharqia Wednesday, Youm7 reported.

No casualties have been reported but the bombing comes last in a series of bombings that have been targeting electricity transformers and high-pressure towers in the past year.

On Monday, a 66-kilovolt electric tower in Egypt’s Delta governorate of Menoufiya had collapsed after an explosive device detonated beneath it.

Explosive devices have mostly targeted police and military personnel since the ouster of President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013, but passersby have been also killed and injured in these attacks.
