Government denies cracks in 6 October Bridge

CAIRO: Roads and Bridges Department Head Ashraf Helmy, denied Friday that parts of the 6 October bridge were cracked.

Earlier, some photos went viral on social media of a number of cracks beneath the massive roadway, with many calling it a massive danger that may cause a collapse.

Helmy told Mehwar television channel Friday that what showed in the photos cannot be considered as “cracks,” and described them instead as ” longitudinal expansions,” and said that there is a company was commissioned by the government to fix it as soon as possible.
