Bomb blast stops Alexandria-Cairo trains

CAIRO: A bomb planted on a railway line in Beheira governorate detonated Saturday causing a state of panic amid residents and led to the halt of Alexandria-Cairo trains, Youm7 reported.

The bomb was placed near the Abu Homs station in Beheira, and the explostion caused a one-meter hole and damages to the railway line, with no injuries reported.

Another bomb was also planted near the same railway, and was reportedly detonated by civil protection forces who were notified by residents.

A security cordon was set up around the site. Residents were banned from approaching the area was swept, which was combed for any other explosives.
