CAIRO: Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry arrived Monday in Nairobi for a three-day visit to attend the sixth round of the Kenyan-Egyptian Joint Committee Conference, the ministry announced.

Besides participation in the conference to begin Monday, Shokry is set to meet with his Kenyan counterpart Amina Mohamed as well as officials from the ministry of water, environment and natural resources.

During his visit, Shokry will present a medical aid shipment from Egypt to Kenyatta hospital, ministry spokesperson Badr Abdel Atty said in the Monday statement.

The Egyptian delegation will also participate in the Egyptian-Kenyan business forum that will be held in conjunction with the conference, set to take place Tuesday.

Abdel Atty also added that Shokry plans to discuss Egypt’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the Security Council at the United Nations for the year 2016 – 2017, as well as political, economic and trade developments.
