CAIRO: An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded Friday outside a police station in Alexandria’s district of San Stefano; no injuries have been reported, according to Youm7.

Civil protection forces and bomb squads have rushed immediately to the scene in search for the unidentified perpetrators. The IED was made of a tiny tray with electrical wires.

Traffic was stalled nearby the police station after security forces combed the area in search for other explosives.

The explosion occurred right after the Friday prayers.

In another separate incident, a bus set ablaze after an unknown assailant put fire in a number of chairs inside. The bus was parking at Mahatet Masr Square nearby Alexandria’s main railway station

The fire did not result in any injuries; investigations are carried out into the incident.
