CAIRO: Two policemen were charged Saturday of raping a girl in late December, according to a statement issued from the Attorney General Hisham Barakat’s office.
The two men were detained, after being initially released on bail, following a report matched the DNA of one man to semen found on clothes of the victim.
A young adult woman, identified as N.T., filed a criminal complaint Dec. 21 accusing two police personnel of holding her in a police vehicle near Shubra in Northern Cairo, and that one of them raped her anally, according to investigations published on Al-Shorouq newspaper Dec. 28.
The prosecution has accused both suspects of four charges: kidnapping a female, indecent attack, committing an obscene act publicly, and arresting people without prior order from the prosecution, the statement said.
A judicial source told Youm7 that both suspected could face life sentences if the court found them guilty.
