CAIRO: In his speech in the World Economic Form annual meeting 2015 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi invited Thursday more than 2,500 world leaders businessmen, and experts to participate in Egypt’s Future Economic summit that is scheduled on March 13-15 in Sharm el-Sheikh.
It is “my pleasure to invite the partners who seek to participate in supporting and developing the Egyptian economy, the Future Egypt, in March to Sharm el-Sheikh to identify available projects besides the cooperation opportunities to update the sectors of spinning and textiles, engineering industries and construction materials,” Sisi said.
Sisi reviewed Egypt’s economic reforms that have been adopted to achieve sustainable development: gradual cutting of fuel subsidies, shrinking the public debt and the budget deficit percentages, and improving the taxation system.
Sisi also said his country is “removing all obstacles” before the private sector and working on reaching settlements over disputes between the government and local and foreign investors. He added that Egypt launched new laws that guarantee good opportunities for investors, noting that Egypt has drafted the unified investment law to upgrade the growth rate to 7% and shrink the unemployment rate to 10% by 2010.
Egypt “increased the financial allocations of the sectors of health, education and the scientific research,” he said.
Sisi also highlighted the great significance of projects launched along the Suez Canal Navigation road and the development corridor project of the Suez Canal to get benefits from its strategic location.
Regarding the terrorism, Sisi said ” terrorism fights us to impose its vision because it sees its contradictions inside us without caring for the principles of ethnics or religion,” “hence, our efforts should be concerted to get rid of this lesion,” he added.
Sisi said that Islam is “the religion of good values,” and more than more than a billion Muslims are being judged on acts of group of the criminal killers.
“We have to, as Muslim, reform ourselves and do not allow such group distorts our good history, destroy our present, and ruin our future,” Sisi said.
Sisi added that the entire international community should respect the doctrines and religions of each other to combat terrorism.
