CAIRO: Four Chinese delegates arrived in Cairo Friday night to start number of agreed projects between the two countries, following the visit of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi to China, Youm7 reported.

Transport Minister Hani Dahi told Youm7 that these projects include a train to link Dar al-Salam and 10th of Ramadan cities, along with other projects regarding railway stations.

President Sisi began his first presidential visit to China last December, “marking excellent relations between the two countries,” according to a statement released by the presidency.

“This visit will usher in a new phase of relations between the two countries, as China has expressed an interest in promoting their relationship to the level of ‘strategic partnership,’ a level China maintains with only a limited number of countries globally,” presidential spokesperson Alaa Youssef said in the statement.

Sisi was invited to make the trip by Chinese Politburo member Meng Jianzhu, the secretary of the Central Politics and Law Commission of the Communist Party, during a meeting held Nov. 22 in Cairo.
