CAIRO:   A huge explosion took place Friday night in Badrashein city in Giza governorate, after a gas pipeline exploded due to a crack inside it, Youm7 reported.

Following the explosion, the city experienced a power outage, but there have been no injuries reported.

About 50 fire engines and 20 ambulances were reported to be heading to the scene  to control it, as many political figures were keen to determine the cause of the explosion.

An eyewitness told Youm7 Friday that police forces closed the main gas pipeline and evacuated homes near the scene of the explosion.
