CAIRO: The death toll of Sunday’s clashes on the fourth anniversary of the January 25 Revolution  has reached 23 people, announced the Ministry of Health Monday.

The number of the injured was raised to 97 persons, the ministry added. The majority of those killed are from Cairo, and most of those were from the Matariya district, which saw heavy clashes.

This year’s anniversary was preceded by the death of Shaimaa al-Sabbaugh, who was killed by birdshot as security forces dispersed a peaceful demonstration in downtown Cairo Saturday marching to Tahrir Square.
