CAIRO: An explosive device went off near a bus station in Egypt’s northern governorate of Port Said Thursday, injuring a taxi driver and causing damage to buses and motorbikes, Youm7 reported.
The driver, who was reportedly near the site, was injured by shrapnel when high explosive bombs, placed under the buses, went off.
A bomb squad team rushed to the scene and combed the surrounding area in search of other bombs. The assailants remain unknown.
In a separate incident, unknown assailants set fire Thursday to a post office and telephone center in a village in Lower Egypt’s governorate of Qalyubia. No injuries were reported.
