CAIRO: Prime Minster Ibrahim Mahlab arrived in Sharm el-Shiekh Wednesday night on an inspection visit to check the preparations for an upcoming economic summit scheduled to be held in the Red Sea resort March 13-15, Youm7 reported.
During the visit, Mahlab issued a decision to form a committee, headed by Minister of International Cooperation Naglaa al-Ahwany, to supervise the preparations and to follow the latest updates regarding the attending delegations along with their accommodations and other logistic services while in Egypt.
Several high-level delegations from all over the world are expected to be present at the summit, which aims to support the development of the Egyptian economy.
The government had initially intended to host the summit as early as in November, but during the summer it was scheduled to be held from Feb. 21-22, 2015, only a few days after the Chinese New Year Feb. 19, which is celebrated for days by several communities around the world.
“The summit is going to be a starting point to number of future economic reform to attract more investments and create more job opportunities and raise the living standard of Egyptian prople accordingly,” said Mahalb.
