CAIRO: Lawyer Samir Sabry filed a lawsuit Sunday morning demanding President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and his Interior Minister Mohamed Ibrahim consider Hamas a terrorist group, Youm7 reported.
Sabry explained in his lawsuit that Hamas was “proven” to be involved in the terrorist attacks that took place in the Sinai Thursday Jan. 29 killing 29 soldiers and hurting more than 45 others.
The elite soldier troop 777’s founder Major General Ahmed Ragaei told Dream2 television channel Saturday night that Hamas is involved some why or another in the terrorist attack, and they should be questioned.
On Jan. 31, Hamas’ armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, was ruled a terrorist organization by the Court for Urgent Matters, Youm7 reported.
A suit filed last year requested the designation of the group, and a March 2014 ruling officially banned Hamas, thereby criminalizing membership or association to it.
