CAIRO: Two suspected smugglers were killed at the Egyptian-Israeli borders in an exchange of fire that included forces from the two countries and the smugglers early Tuesday, Haaretz reported.

The identity of the two people has not been revealed, but they were killed on Egyptian soil with “an unspecified drug,” according to Haaretz.

Hours earlier on Monday evening, North Sinai security forces foiled the attempt of six Sudanese people to access Israel illegally Monday evening, Youm7 reported.

The smugglers had left the group that was arrested south of Rafah to attempt to cross the borders on their own.
