CAIRO: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged all parties in Yemen to refrain using violence; spokesperson Badr Abdel Atty stated Thursday that there are ongoing communications with all Arabian governments and leaders aiming to solve the current impasse.

“Egypt is deeply concerned about the latest escalated events, and calls on all related parties to show their commitment to peaceful solutions,” the statement added.

Abdel Atty also emphasized Egypt’s support to “the Yemeni people’s ambitions and demands.”

The U.S. Department of State announced Tuesday the closing of their embassy in Sanaa after the latest domination of Houthi fighters. Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the movement’s leader has stated the closing is not “justified.” On Wednesday Reuters reported Houthi fighters seized U.S. embassy vehicles after the departure of the ambassador.
