CAIRO: A Libyan branch of the Islamic State group posted Sunday night a video showing the mass beheading of 21 Egyptian Copts who had been kidnapped in early January in Libya.
“Dabiq,” an IS English-language magazine, published photos of the Copts wearing orange jumpsuits Thursday, which previous IS prisoners had been forced to wear before their executions in Iraq and Syria.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry denied Saturday and Sunday they had received any official reports of the deaths, saying it was doing what it could to confirm with local authorities.
