CAIRO: An abused baby girl was found in a pile of garbage in Shubra el-Kheima district of Al Qalyubia governorate, North of Cairo, suffering from a fracture in her foot and bruises on her face, Youm7 reported.

Going to buy bread at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, a woman named Fatima found the girl in the piles of garbage where stray dogs were digging around her.

Fatima transported the baby to a hospital, where a doctor told her the bruises were caused by a hit from a blunt object.

The woman sent Youm7 the baby’s photo to find one of her relatives, assuming that she was abducted. She also called the police about the baby to find her relatives.

“The girl is now in a state home for children,” Fatima said.

Qalyubiyah police directorate received a phone called from a man called Eid Adel Eid who claimed that he was the baby’s uncle and her name is Rodayia. He said the baby disappeared from her grandpa’s house last Thursday.

An investigation is being conducted to know how the baby was abandoned and find those responsible.

Meanwhile, another newborn baby wrapped in a blanket was found near a school wall in Sharqia governorate Wednesday and the police opened a probe to reach his family, Youm7 reported.
