Setif wins Super African Cup in shootout after 1-1 draw with Ahly

CAIRO: Algerian team Entente Setif won the Super African Cup Saturday night after scoring 6 goals in a shootout with Cairo’s Al-Ahly, which scored 5, after the two teams ended the match in a 1-1 draw.

The match was held at Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida Algeria in the CAF Super Cup final.

Al-Ahly had hoped to put their domestic woes behind them and bid for their 7th African Super Cup in order to overtake DR Congo’s TP Mazembe and Nigeria’s Enyimba, who achieved the title six times.

According to the FIFA regulations, winner of the African Champions League will host the winner of the African Confederation Cup for a one-off match that determines the winner of the CAF Super Cup.
